As Occupational Health Doctor, you will be Accountable for providing medical and occupational healthcare to Qatar Airways employees to an acceptable internationally accredited standard. Provide occupational health advice and guidance to QR Group Management and business and function leaders. Contribute to the delivery of a high-quality occupational healthcare in line with the principles of Clinical Governance and Qatar’s MOPH Medical Standards.
Accountabilities
Operational:
• Assist Senior Doctor in the analysis of QR Group Occupational Health needs and provide recommendations that support the development of an effective Occupational Health (OH) service.
• Promote health of QR Group employees by providing occupational health initiatives such as educational trainings to employees in support of a company-wide healthy workforce.
• Review pre-employment health questionnaires and advise business on fitness to work for potential employees
Clinical Governance:
• Promote highest clinical standards in the delivery of occupational healthcare.
• Participate in the teaching and clinical supervision of the Occupational Health nursing team.
• Participate in regular audit of clinical activity and effectiveness to aid the improvement and expansion of the Occupational Health service.
• Engage in continuous professional development and support that of the wider OH team.
Clinical:
• Provide high quality occupational health services to Qatar Airways staff.
• Maintain client confidentiality and respond to medical problems presented by clients through history taking, examination and appropriate sign posting/referral for continued care as needed.
• Recognize and provide appropriate advice and care in the event of urgent or emergency conditions in line with agreed protocols and/or best practice guidelines.
• Provide appropriate health promotion and preventative health care advice to clients.
• Have accurate and up-to-date knowledge of medications, doses, drug interactions and potential side effects.
• Be responsible for appropriate prescribing where needed in accordance with national prescribing guidelines
• Perform pre-employment medical examinations.
• Advise on the occupational health implications of existing medical conditions.
• Actively communicate and coordinate care of clients with colleagues, specialist services and allied health professionals as required to ensure best quality of care is delivered to staff.
