To carry out the strategies of the group and its subsidiaries support the department in:
To review and advise senior management the optimal capital structure of subsidiaries upcoming
projects and in relation to M&A while considering appropriate risk levels;
Advise and recommend funding strategy showing analysis and considerations for various fund raise options. This may include identifying and engaging nontraditional pools of capital/debt optimizing debt borrowing across the Group taking into account managing risk levels;
Coordinate in collaboration with the subsidiary CFOs and treasury teams the endtoend process of any equity and debtraising activities required by FDC or by the subsidiaries;
Keep excellent relationships with the banking community;
Perform valuations of projects entities as may be required which may include sum of the parts of FDC
The role may be involved as part of the special projects mandate of group such as helping the businesses/subsidiaries in developing detailed strategic financial business and operational plans for proposed projects as well as pursuing Mergers and Acquisitions for the company group. He/she will:
Assist Business Development on due diligence and valuation;
Work across the company group to identify key strategic projects that need support;
Identify source and nurture/pool strategic deals in line with the goals of FDC;
Develop networks to increase deal flow;
Negotiate terms of definitive documents through to completion;
May be involved in post M&A integration.
KEY FUNCTIONS/DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support the Group Strategy offices mandate to drive visibility clarity on the items below including
supporting timely and quality implementation of the following:
1. Insight generation:
a. Trend forecasting and analysis
b. Competitive intelligence
c. Portfolio Optimization
2. Own value levers including the actual formulation of strategies
a. Business Development and M&A
b. Innovation business model experimentation
c. ESG / Regulatory Strategy with input but led mainly by separate Sustainability group
d. Hands on delivery ofspecific projects by strategy team
3. Enact and enable strategic decisions:
a. Strategy planning management
b. Facilitating decision processes and routes
c. Challenging performance initiate deep dive analyses on existing subsidiaries/affiliates
d. Building strategic thinking capabilities
e. Tracking Strategic Initiatives
f. Reallocating resources
