Job Description

Are you a Director of Nursing with a background in long term care and skilled nursing facilities Do you possess an Ohio RN license and the desire to manage a facilitys nursing program Do you want to live in the Cincinnati area and find out what all the buzz is about! Responsibilities:

  • Perform rounds for patients on unit
  • Handles HR responsibilities including hiring disciplining and evaluating employees.
  • Plans and facilitates meetings and committees to address resident care issues.
  • Develops and manages nurse on call system.
  • Develops and manages the department budget
  • Investigate and resolve residents/family/employee concerns.
  • Ensures that annual competency evaluations and performance reviews are completed in the appropriate time frame.
  • Plans and guides the professional development of nursing staff.
  • Ensures that adequate nursing staff are available based on facility/census requirements.
  • Collect data to compile reports in a timely manner and to meet deadlines.
  • Assures that all clinical protocols and nursing policies and procedures are followed.
  • Assure Pharmacy dietary physician consults are followed in timely manner.


Knowledge/Skills/Abilities:

  • A minimum of three years of experience as a Director of Nursing or Assistant Director of Nursing
  • Graduate of accredited school of nursing BSN preferred.
  • Valid Ohio RN license
  • Valid CPR certification.
  • Strong management skills especially directing teams in emergency situations
  • Ability to communicate effectively with residents and their family members and at all levels of the organization.
  • Strong organization and time management skills are required for this role
  • Ability to react decisively and quickly in emergency situations.
  • Prior experience training clinical staff on industry best practices
  • Knowledge of the Nurse Practice Act state and federal regulations policies and procedures regarding nursing standards and delivery of care
