Job Description
Title System Administrator
Client:The California State University (CSU)
Location: 401 Golden Shore
Long Beach CA 90802
Note: This position is a Onsite.
Job Description
- Install configure and maintain operating systems software applications and system management tools.
- Ensure the stable operation of computer systems and networks.
- Perform regular system monitoring verify the integrity and availability of hardware server resources systems and key processes
- Manage and maintain network infrastructure including switches routers and firewalls.
- Monitor network performance and troubleshoot networkrelated issues to ensure minimal downtime.
- Implement and manage security measures including firewalls antivirus and intrusion detection systems.
- Monitor security logs manage user access and ensure compliance with security policies.
- Develop and maintain backup and recovery procedures.
- Perform regular backups and ensure the reliability of backup systems.
- Coordinate and support disaster recovery planning and testing.
- Apply patches updates and upgrades to operating systems and software applications.
- Manage software and hardware lifecycle ensuring timely updates and replacements.
- Provide technical support and guidance to endusers.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware software and network issues.
- Create and maintain documentation for systems and network configurations procedures and troubleshooting guides.
- Develop and maintain scripts for automation of routine tasks and system management.
- Implement automation tools and processes to streamline system administration tasks.
- Ensure systems and network compliance with organizational policies and industry standards.
- Maintain accurate and uptodate documentation of system configurations processes and procedures.
- Strong knowledge of operating systems (Windows Linux Unix) and system management tools.
- Experience with network administration and troubleshooting.
- Familiarity with security measures and best practices.
- Relevant certifications (e.g. CompTIA Server Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Red Hat Certified System Administrator) are a plus.
