Job Description

Location: Epsom New Hampshire

Position Type: FullTime

Salary: $35 an hour to $42 an hour (Based on experience and qualifications)

Job Description:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Education Teacher to join our team in Epsom New Hampshire. The ideal candidate will be committed to supporting students with diverse learning needs and helping them achieve their full potential. As a Special Education Teacher you will develop individualized education plans (IEPs) provide tailored instruction and collaborate with other educators and families to create a supportive and inclusive learning environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and Implement IEPs: Create implement and monitor individualized education plans for students with special needs. Ensure that instructional strategies and accommodations align with each student s unique requirements.

  • Instruction and Support: Provide direct instruction to students with disabilities adapting teaching methods and materials to meet their specific learning needs. Foster an inclusive classroom environment that encourages student participation and engagement.

  • Assessment and Evaluation: Conduct assessments to evaluate students progress and needs. Use data to inform instructional strategies and modify IEPs as necessary.

  • Collaboration: Work closely with general education teachers administrators and support staff to coordinate and integrate services for students. Communicate regularly with parents and guardians to provide updates on student progress and address any concerns.

  • Behavior Management: Implement and reinforce positive behavior support plans. Address behavioral challenges with appropriate strategies and interventions.

  • Professional Development: Stay current with best practices in special education and engage in ongoing professional development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge.

  • Compliance: Ensure compliance with federal state and local regulations regarding special education services. Maintain accurate records and documentation as required.

Requirements


Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor s degree in Special Education or a related field (Master s degree preferred).

  • Certification: Valid New Hampshire Special Education Certification or eligibility for certification.

  • Experience: Proven experience working with students with special needs. Experience in developing and implementing IEPs is highly desirable.

  • Skills: Strong interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work collaboratively with a diverse group of educators parents and students.

They will also foster professional friendships with faculty and staff, seek collaborative relationships with parents, and mentor students in the pursuit of their own flourishing. Conduct occupational therapy assessments and interpret results to support student learning. Participate in IEP meetings, MTSS meetings, and other staff or department meetings. Provide direct and consultative therapeutic services to students in individual or group settings, per IEP requirements. Create goals and objectives for students to work toward and identify areas of progress and challenges. Collaborate with other teachers and staff to design and implement appropriate interventions and accommodations for students. Maintain student records and submit information/records, including student progress, as needed to support students and adhere to IEP regulations.
