This is a remote position.
Job Title: Batch Administrator
Job Type: Contract; FullTime
Location: Canada (Remote Offshore)
About the Company:
Our client is a Crown corporation providing specialized and personalized financial services to farming operations. Our client offers financing insurance software learning programs and other business services to producers agribusiness owners and agrifood entrepreneurs across the country.
Responsibilities:
Responsible for all activities related to support of ETL processes for large scale data warehouses using Informatica Power Center.
Regularly monitor the execution of AWS Glue data pipeline jobs to ensure they are running as expected.
Monitoring and providing support application batches in all the environments.
Diagnose and resolve issues related to ETL Informatica and AWS Glue data pipeline job failures data discrepancies or performance bottlenecks.
Configure and manage job schedules using AWS Glue triggers or other orchestration tools like AWS Step Functions.
Automate repetitive tasks to improve efficiency and reduce manual intervention.
Communicate job status issues and resolutions to relevant teams and stakeholders.
Maintain detailed documentation of ETL & AWS Glue data pipeline processes job configurations and troubleshooting steps.
Stay updated with the latest AWS Glue features and best practices to enhance job performance and capabilities.
Participate in code reviews and knowledgesharing sessions to foster a culture of continuous improvement and learning.
Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to identify and implement solutions to prevent recurrence.
Weekend support for daily and month end batch activities.
Requirements:
Required Experience
5 years of ETL Administration
2 years AWS Glue data pipeline batch support experience
Experience working with code repositories such as Git Gitlab GitHub
Required Skills:
Proficiency in SQL PySpark Redshift AWS Glue and Basic Unix Scripting
Basic DB knowledge
ETL Knowledge
Specific Project Requirements: Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Demonstrated experience in SQL programming is required. Demonstrated experience in ETL is required. Strong knowledge and demonstrated experience in current and future state data mapping. Carry out data validation and identify and resolve discrepancies (format, content, values). Work with business team members on troubleshooting Top Skills Required: Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy. Well-rounded experience in the whole data lifecycle management and hands-on experience in the following data management domains: dimensional and relational data modeling, data quality, SQL programming (minimum 5 years), ETL development, metadata management and master data management, and business intelligence. Experience with reverse engineering the source to target mapping to gain data insights Experience refactoring existing SQL code to new/alternate data sources. Other Skills Required: Experience with Azure Data Platform technologies or other public cloud offerings Programming experience: SQL Experience with Databricks Excellent verbal and written communication, critical thinking, time management, priority planning and interpersonal skills. Ability to understand and interpret requirements and design documents Ability to write and maintain documentation Demonstrated experience working with key business stakeholders in areas of Finance, Risk Management and Insurance Assets: Experience working in an Agile environment/team Bilingualism in both official languages (English and French) Greater than 5 years of SQL development and refactoring existing SQL
