DATA PROTECTION CONSULTANT

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Protection Consultant to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for advising and implementing data protection strategies to ensure the confidentiality integrity and availability of organizational data. This role involves working closely with various departments to ensure compliance with relevant regulations and best practices.

Responsibilities:

• Data Protection Strategy: Develop and implement comprehensive data protection strategies and policies.
• Regulatory Compliance: Ensure compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR CCPA HIPAA etc.
• Risk Assessment: Conduct regular risk assessments and audits to identify vulnerabilities in data protection.
• Data Encryption: Implement and manage data encryption processes for data at rest and in transit.
• Data Loss Prevention: Develop and manage data loss prevention (DLP) programs.
• Incident Response: Lead and coordinate incident response activities related to data breaches.
• Training and Awareness: Conduct training sessions to raise awareness about data protection practices among employees.
• Data Governance: Establish and enforce data governance frameworks and policies.
• Technology Evaluation: Evaluate and recommend data protection technologies and solutions.
• Reporting and Documentation: Prepare regular reports on data protection status and incidents and maintain detailed documentation.

Qualifications:

• Education: Bachelors degree in Computer Science Information Technology Cybersecurity or a related field. Masters degree preferred.
• Certifications: Relevant certifications such as CIPP CIPM CIPT CISSP or similar.
• Experience: Minimum of 5 years of experience in data protection information security or a related field.
• Knowledge: Indepth knowledge of data protection regulations (e.g. GDPR CCPA) data encryption methods and DLP technologies.
• Skills: Strong analytical and problemsolving skills excellent communication and interpersonal skills ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in data protection technologies familiarity with data governance tools and experience with cloud security platforms.
• Experience in consulting or advisory roles in data protection is preferred
• Handson experience with data protection tools and technologies such as encryption software DLP solutions and SIEM systems is plus.
• Deep understanding of industryspecific data protection requirements (e.g. healthcare finance).
