Devops Engineer

Role: Principal DevOps Engineer

About You:

As the Principal DevOps Engineer you will be an integral member of the Blue Cloud Platform Operations Team playing a pivotal role in enhancing the Developer Experience. You will be instrumental in creating automated pipelines and developing selfservice capabilities within our Internal Developer Platform. Aswell as ensure that the platform is secure and performing at its best. This role is ideal for a highly skilled DevOps / SRE professional with a passion for innovation automation and continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

Developer Experience Enhancement:

o Design build and maintain robust automated CI/CD pipelines.

o Develop and manage tools that support the internal developer platform ensuring a seamless and efficient experience for developers.

Automation & SelfService:

o Implement automation for various operational processes reducing manual intervention.

o Create selfservice capabilities that empower developers to deploy and manage their applications independently.

Platform Security & Performance:

o Ensure the security of the platform by implementing best practices and monitoring for vulnerabilities.

o Continuously monitor and optimize the performance of the platform to ensure high availability and reliability.

Infrastructure as Code (IaC):

o Utilize IaC tools (such as Terraform Ansible or similar) to provision and manage infrastructure.

o Ensure infrastructure is scalable secure and resilient.

Kubernetes Expertise:

o Design deploy and manage Kubernetes clusters to support containerized applications.

o Implement and manage Kubernetesbased solutions for orchestration scaling and security.

Azure Cloud Experience:

o Design deploy and manage Azure infrastructure and services.

o Optimize cloud resource utilization and cost management in Azure.

Collaboration & Mentorship:

o Collaborate with crossfunctional teams to align on project requirements and deliverables.

o Mentor junior team members promoting best practices in DevOps and automation.

Monitoring & Troubleshooting:

o Implement monitoring and logging solutions to ensure system health and performance.

o Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to system performance security and reliability.

Continuous Improvement:

o Stay current with industry trends and advancements in DevOps practices and technologies.

o Identify opportunities for process improvements and drive initiatives to implement them.

Qualifications

Education & Experience:

o Bachelors degree in Computer Science Engineering or a related field (or equivalent work experience).

o 5 years of experience in DevOps Site Reliability Engineering (SRE) or a similar role.

Technical Skills:

o Proficiency in scripting languages (e.g. Python Bash Ruby).

o Experience with CI/CD tools preferably GitHub Actions.

o Strong knowledge of cloud platforms with a focus on Azure.

o Expertise in Kubernetes and containerization technologies (Docker).

o Experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform CloudFormation).

Soft Skills:

o Excellent problemsolving and analytical skills.

o Strong communication and collaboration skills.

o Ability to work independently and in a teamoriented collaborative environment.

Preferred Qualifications

Experience with microservices architecture and serverless computing.

Experience creating and managing an Internal Developer Platform

Knowledge of security best practices in DevOps.

Previous experience in a leadership or mentorship role.
