SAP And DB2 Migration Specialist

Job Overview: We are seeking an experienced SAP and DB2 Migration Specialist to assist our client in migrating their legacy SAP and DB2 environments due to a data center shutdown. This role requires a deep understanding of SAP version 9.3 and DB2 with a proven track record of successfully migrating these systems. Postmigration the client plans to upgrade to the SAP cloud version.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the migration of SAP v9.3 and DB2 environments to a new infrastructure.
• Address and resolve any licensing issues that may impact the migration process.
• Work closely with the client to understand their current environment and requirements.
• Utilize RVtools reports to identify SAP and DB2 servers and assist in planning the migration.
• Ensure minimal disruption to business operations during the migration.
• Collaborate with other IT teams and stakeholders to ensure a seamless transition.
• Provide postmigration support and troubleshooting as needed.
• Prepare and present regular progress reports to stakeholders.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

• Extensive experience with SAP v9.3 including previous migration projects.
• Strong knowledge of DB2 particularly version 9.3 and experience with DB2 sync in an ActiveActive setup.
• Proven experience in migrating legacy systems to new environments.
• Strong problemsolving skills and ability to address licensing issues.
• Ability to work independently and manage projects in a remote setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Familiarity with RVtools and its use in identifying server environments.
• Ability to produce clear documentation and reports for stakeholders.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with SAP cloud versions and postmigration upgrades.
• Previous experience in data center migrations.
• Familiarity with architecture diagrams and storage requirement planning.
• Strong project management skills.

Client Details:

• Running an older version of SAP (version 9.3) and DB2 (most likely version 9.3).
• Current environment is unsupported and requires migration due to a data center shutdown.
• Postmigration upgrade to SAP cloud version planned.
