About the Role:

SoftLabs is seeking Senior Technical Engineer for ICT Labour hire at their technology consulting based in Canberra.

Requirements:

The Senior Technical Engineering Expert will use their indepth knowledge of specific ICT platforms to provide expert advice on the management and maintenance of those platforms. They will be required to work closely with key third party suppliers to ensure the provision of a robust infrastructure capability to the business and consult with architecture and shared services areas to ensure the security of the daytoday technical operations.
Senior Technical Engineering Experts operate with a significant degree of independence and works under the broad guidance of a National Manager to deliver quality outcomes. They operate with a high level of autonomy with decisionmaking highly dependent on their own judgement. In performing a leadership role Senior Technical Engineering Experts identify and drive innovation manage and lead change and have an active role in contributing to and implementing the agency s strategic direction.

Key duties may include but are not limited to:

• Lead the design administration and maintenance of all endtoend production and preproduction Centrelink mainframe environments.
  
• Lead the implementation documentation and automation of new and existing technologies/products/processes.
  
• Provide expert advice to technical specialists and stakeholders and seek their cooperation in the provision of database administration.
  
• Influence peers to build systems that are easy to operate and scales on demand. Develop and drive architectural change that benefits the agency by solving scalability and performance problems.
  
• Code development and maintenance. Incident and problem management (ITIL). Have experience with testing methodologies.
  
• Have experience with a large mainframe environment. Have experience with various mainframe products and utilities including TSO/ISPF/SFDF/ REXX / JCL / MQ / IOA ControlM/D.
  
• Demonstrated experience with M204 User Language and file structures. Batch processing.
  
• Experience with SAP would be beneficial. Relationship/Stakeholder management.
  
• Effective communication skills.
  
  

Primary Knowledge/Skills/Systems/Tools required for role include:

• Sterling Data Power API Connect Java JSON JavaScript Python IBM Security Verify Access (ISVA) DEVOPS DB2 SQL WebSphere Unix Bash OpenShift/OpenStack Automation and containerisation of SOA Platform Integration applications and services.
  

Essential Criteria:

• Must have a minimum of 5 Years experience in the management of complex IT platforms.
  
• Experience with Model 204.
  

Desirable Criteria:

• Demonstrated ability to shape strategic direction with high level Relationship/Stakeholder management and communication skills.
  
• Experience in system design in an IBM mainframe centric environment.
  
• Demonstrated understanding of testing methodologies and the endtoend system development life cycle.
  
• Understanding of and experience with the M204 application platform.
  
• Knowledge of and experience with other large corporate application platforms such as SAP DB2 and other databases.
