Job Description

We are hiring a Assistant Director of Nursing for a Home setting in Cork Ireland. We will provide exceptional patient care in an environment where quality respect caring and compassion are at the center of all we do.
Key Responsibilities
- Live our Mission Vision and Values.
- To ensure a high standard of nursing in the application of clinical nursing procedures and treatments including the custody storage and administration of medicines.
- To maintain a high standard of nursing care during procedures and treatments through supervision and instruction.
- To ensure patients rights are maintained and protected under the Mental Health Act.
- Assist the Director of Nursing to ensure that allocated staff are aware of Individual care plans and objectives together with any set activities to be undertaken.
- Complete supervision and appraisals of junior staff members.
- To take charge of the Centre in the absence of the Director of Nursing.
- Under the guidance and supervision of the Director of Nursing exercise leadership within the service by ensuring sound organisation good communication and relationships within the nursing team and the MDT.
Requirements
- Registered on or eligible to be on the Psychiatric Division of the Nursing and Midwifery Board of Ireland (NMBI).
- Postregistration qualification in healthcare management (QQ1 Level 8 or higher) or working towards and/or equivalent may be an advantage or a contractual undertaking to acquire within 3 years from the date of appointment.
- A minimum of 5 years post qualification/registration nursing experience.
- A minimum of 3 years relevant experience in ID/Mental Health nursing.
- Relevant life experience.
