Job Description

2 months contract with a North London based Local Authority

Job Summary:

In conjunction with the Fleet Operations Manager and workshop supervisor to provide high quality fleet repairs for the Councils vehicle fleet and equipment holding.

To liaise with internal customers where required to arrange Service Level Agreements meetings to enable service provision and service standards to be set and monitored highlighting to the Fleet Operations Manager.

This role will be responsible for ensuring all Council vehicle and equipment assets are recorded correctly in vehicle and equipment data base.

To be the first point of contact for workshop supplier s queries and service queries to the fleet department and workshops.

To complete all scheduling for vehicles ride on equipment all parks equipment ensuring internal customers receive timely notification of inspection service and MOT appointments.

Liaise with external service providers to ensure MOTs and booked to align with MOT / service bookings in the fleet workshop.

Key Duties/Accountabilities:

To control and maintain the SLA agreements with internal and external customers/suppliers. To assist in internal and external audits of the fleet and workshop department.

To ensure all vehicles plant and equipment are held in the vehicle / equipment data base and service records are amended and updated as required.

To ensure all vehicles listed on the Council s Operator s Licence have their preventative maintenance inspections service MOT and LOLER tests are scheduled in alignment with prevailing DVSA regulations and manufacturers requirements.

To effectively report on vehicle maintenance costs and availability.

To liaise with external suppliers for the supply of parts and to ensure they are delivered on time and meet the correct specification agreed with the workshop.

To ensure that all external suppliers are managed effectively to ensure the Councils maintains cost effective vehicle repairs.

To assist the Head of Fleet Operations Manager to ensure all procedures lay down by the DVSA with relation to O Licence standards are met.

To contribute to the fleet and workshop business continuity Plan and support.

To resolve customer and supplier concerns in accordance with the Council s corporate complaint policy and to escalate as required to the Fleet Operations Manager accordingly.

Essential Experience Required:

Substantial experience of working in a fleet / workshop environment.

Substantial experience of working with a fleet/workshop data base and maintaining detailed records.

Proven experience of developing quality systems to ensure the delivery of efficient support to internal and external customers.

Experience in a commercial vehicle environment.

Experience of dealing with and monitoring external suppliers.

To be competent using IT systems especially in a workshop environment.
