Responsibilities

• The Supplier Quality Engineer will be responsible for overall Cable/Contact/Connector process development and readiness within the supply chain.

• Drive DesignforManufacturability (DFM) activities with vendors and provide technical support in enhancing process capability and solving technical issues.

• Identify equipment fixture and tooling needs and drive implementation efforts to qualify and optimize the manufacturing process.

• Establish quality and process control plans at vendors for early detection of issues and to ensure the highest level of quality and reliability is consistently delivered.

• Responsible for conducting Design/Process FMEA Failure analysis PPAP and Statistical Process Control.

• Knowledgeable in conducting DOEs Line qualification Machine Buyoff Cycle Time & UPH studies and Automation.

• Develop and institutionalize our vendor and supplier selection process.

• Evaluate prospective vendors for process capability based on project needs then be a major part of supplier identification and selection.

• Publish concise reports on module yield performance specification convergence status; drive Failure analysis Corrective Action implementation plan and yield bridge to mass production.

• Responsible for supplier quality management with a focus on assessing supplier production and quality controls evaluating supplier readiness and adherence to module quality plan.

• Collaborate with Suppliers and Engineering teams in assessing proposing and developing process technologies based on project requirements.

• Support SQE other activities if needed.

Key Qualifications

• BS degree in Electrical Mechanical or Mechatronic Engineering is required.

• 5 years of experience in supplier quality engineering in consumer electronics with relevant work experience; Cable/Contact/Connector design and process development experience is preferred.

• Strong knowledge of different kinds of Cable/Contact/Connector manufacturing processes with an understanding of equipment and methodologies commonly used in the industry.

• Experience with process control on plating laser welding injection molding stamping pin inserting UV glue dispensing /curing and automatic optical inspection etc.

• Understand the plating stack up solution proposal for required anticorrosion performance is preferred

• Understand Cable assembly flow major soldering technologies and cable test items.

• Understand how to define the reliability test plan to do quality risk assessment for Cable/Contact/Connector at component level.

• Experience with quality tools such as SPC FMEA GR&R DoE metrology GD&T and Correlation studies.

• Experience with doing data analysis using Excel Minitab or JMP.

• Experience in developing and qualifying tooling jigs and fixtures.

• Good at identifying risk and developing solid plans to mitigate

• Good English communication problemsolving and collaboration skills.

• Ability and willingness to travel up to 50% to vendors at different locations.
