STRUCTURAL DESIGNER

The Civil / Structural Designer is responsible for the preparation and modification of civil and structural drawings required for construction activities at the site. This role includes ensuring the accuracy and completeness of drawings verifying redline markups prepared by the implementation contractor and collaborating with various stakeholders to support the successful execution of construction projects.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Create detailed civil and structural drawings using CAD software based on project specifications and standards.
• Update and modify existing drawings as necessary to reflect changes in design or site conditions.
• Review and verify redline markups prepared by the implementation contractor.
• Ensure that all changes are accurately reflected in the final drawings and that they comply with project specifications and standards.
• Work closely with project engineers construction managers and other stakeholders to ensure that drawings are accurate and meet project requirements.
• Participate in project meetings to discuss drawing requirements and progress.
• Maintain accurate records of all drawings revisions and redline markups.
• Ensure that all documentation is organized and easily accessible for reference by project team members.
• Ensure that all drawings comply with relevant industry standards codes and project specifications.
• Stay updated with the latest developments in civil and structural drafting techniques and software.
• Conduct site visits as needed to gather information and verify site conditions.
• Assist in site inspections to ensure that construction is proceeding according to the drawings.

KEY REQUIREMENTS:

• Diploma or degree in Civil Engineering Structural Engineering Drafting or a related field.
• Minimum of 8 years of experience in civil/structural drafting in the construction or engineering industry.
• Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD Revit etc.) and other relevant drafting tools.
• Strong understanding of civil and structural systems construction methods and industry standards.
• Communication: Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Attention to Detail: Strong attention to detail and accuracy in drawing preparation and verification.
• Experience with 3D modeling software (e.g. Tekla Structures Bentley STAAD Pro).
• Familiarity with industry codes and standards (ACI AISC etc.).
• Previous experience in largescale construction projects.
