Sr RESIDENT ENGINEER

PURPOSE OF THE JOB:
The purpose of the job of a Senior Resident Engineer (SRE) is to provide overall leadership direction and technical expertise in managing complex engineering projects particularly in the areas of roads and infrastructure. This role is pivotal in ensuring that projects are executed efficiently within budget and according to the highest standards of quality and safety.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide overall leadership and direction for roads and infrastructure projects.
• Develop and implement project plans schedules and budgets.
• Oversee project execution ensuring compliance with contract specifications standards and regulations.
• Serve as the technical authority on complex engineering issues.
• Provide expert advice on technical matters drawing from international best practices and standards.
• Ensure the application of advanced engineering principles and methodologies.
• Lead and mentor a team of engineers technicians and support staff.
• Delegate authority on LEAN Construction Supervision to Resident Engineers.
• Foster a collaborative and professional work environment.
• Maintain effective communication with clients stakeholders and project teams.
• Ensure client satisfaction and manage expectations throughout the project lifecycle.
• Represent the company in meetings with clients government agencies and other stakeholders.
• Implement quality control measures and ensure adherence to project specifications.
• Conduct regular site inspections and audits to monitor progress and quality.
• Address and resolve any technical or operational issues that arise.
• Identify potential risks and develop mitigation strategies.
• Monitor and manage project risks including financial technical and operational risks.
• Ensure compliance with health safety and environmental regulations.
• Promote and implement LEAN Construction principles and practices.
• Identify opportunities for process improvements and innovation.
• Stay updated with the latest industry trends and advancements.

KEY QUALIFICATIONS:

• BSc BEng BA or Equivalent candidate with more than 20 years experience in roads and infrastructure projects
• Minimum 7 years of similar experience as a Resident Engineer.
• Professional Certification: Chartered Engineer status is required.
• Expertise in LEAN Construction methodologies.
• Qualified professional who has reached the director level; capable of providing planning leadership direction and technical expertise to manage complex tasks and multidiscipline projects.
• Highly experienced technical specialist who will provide expert advice on complex matters requiring international world class expertise.
• Should be recognized as an authority on the technical subject including delegation of Authority on LEAN Construction Supervision to the Resident Engineer(s).
• Proven track record of managing complex and largescale projects.
• Strong leadership and team management skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Deep technical knowledge of engineering principles and practices.
