HSE Engineer - Environmental

JOB PURPOSE

• Support the project management by ensuring that the OHS Policy & Systems are implemented maintained and its performance reported to Safety manager together with any recommendations for improvement.
• The overall scope would encompass EHS Building & Construction Safety. Maintain and apply knowledge of current health and safety policies regulations and industrial processes.
• Inspecting facilities that may pose a risk to public health or the environment such as STP
• Conducting research and analysis on topics such as environmental impact pollution prevention techniques and government regulations related to environmental issues.
• Preparing reports maps charts and other documentation detailing findings from inspections or research projects.
• Conducting site inspections to identify environmental hazards and make recommendations for corrective action.
• To develop and implement environmental policies and programs in line with the company s strategic objectives.
• To ensure that all environmental legislation is adhered to.
• To develop and oversee the implementation of environmental management systems.
• To conduct audits to identify environmental risks and noncompliance with environmental regulations.
• To develop risk mitigation strategies and action plans.
• To monitor the effectiveness of environmental management systems and make improvements where necessary.
• To liaise with internal and external stakeholders on environmental issues
• To prepare reports on the company s environmental performance.
• To keep abreast of developments in environmental legislation and best practice.
• To provide training to employees on environmental issues.
• To raise awareness of environmental issues among employees.
• To investigate environmental incidents and accidents and take appropriate. s) Should be able to train the team in all EHS aspects.

PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIES

Keep constantly updated identifying improvement opportunities in the Environment Health and Safety Management System certified against ISO45001:2018 which contains the procedures applicable in the company and the recording systems and keeps the critical processes under control

Perform safety inspections and audits on various projects as per the plan and reports shall be generated accordingly.

Ensure documents required in support of the Health & Occupational Safety are issued to all concerned.

To perform walk through with all stakeholders as and when required and provide appropriate EHS recommendations and ensure it is closed.

Support all employees to embed safety and an environmentally friendly attitude into their everyday activities cascading this to all levels. Become the advocate and point of contact for OH&S team advice.

Major Activities:

• Ensure that Health & occupational Safety standards are applied across the organization (projects) including all the stakeholders.
• Ensure documents required in support of the Health & Occupational Safety are issued to all concerned and are followed in true spirit.
• Prepare future safety plans based on past experiences and facts. Carryout HIRA JHA & SOP on Health and occupational Safety aspects as per international standards.
• Should have expertise in preparing reports such as monthly statistics Nearmiss etc.
• Established procedures on communication of relevant health and occupational safety matters between the various internal levels and functions of the organization.
• Support (ISO 45001 :2018 ISO 14001:2018) audits on Health & occupational safety.
• Follow up on all audit observation/nonconformance till closure. Ensure that relevant documents are available where required and all such documents remain legible and readily identifiable.
• Collaborate with all levels of project managers engineering staff quality assurance quality improvement regulatory compliance specialists etc. Measure and audit the effectiveness of hazard control programs.

JOB SPECIFICATION

• Education qualification and certifications (Indicate the level of education and certifications required) Technical Graduate / Technical Diploma/ (3 years Full Time) Electrical Electronics Mechanical or Civil.
• Govt Recognized HSE course Like Diploma in environmental science or any related qualifications in environmental. Certifications course NEBOSH iDIP NEBOSH in environmental Years of Experience (Years of relevant experience required)
• 3 to 5 years of experience in Health & occupational Safety environmental at middle level management levels.
• Experience of working in a multifunctional organization involving different domains as
• Environmental officer in mega projects such as Airport or metro.
• Computer skills (Indicate the required knowledge on software applications hardware etc. that are required)
• Ability to use computers for routine duties without dependency.
• A thorough knowledge of KSPCB or CPCB rules and regulations is a prerequisite.
• Fluency in written and oral communication in English.
• Beneficial personality traits in balanced measure would include meticulous consistent.
