Job Description
Join a leading audiovisual integrator and broadcast production company in Eden Prairie MN as an Audiovisual Senior CAD Drafter. You will use computeraided design and drafting software to help the engineering team turn visions into detailed technical drawings for A/V Broadcast and IT Systems. Youll also be a key internal resource coordinating CAD and REVIT best practices maintaining block and family databases and diving into the latest technology connectors signal types and workflows in broadcast and AV systems. Responsibilities:
- Develop and generate all necessary drawings for the customer projects.
- Coordinate and consult with other team members to understand AV and broadcast system design intent.
- Draw and detail plans for Audio/Visual / Broadcast systems including Floor Plans RCP s elevation and plan views video/audio/data/control signal flows pin detail drawings and system notes based on preliminary concepts sketches engineering calculations specification sheets and other data.
- Modification of drawings with necessary engineering changes and client feedback
- Identify possible design concerns where spatial or technical conflicts occur.
- Generate cable labels and pull lists based on schedules.
- At the conclusion of a project incorporate redline drawings and maintain asbuilts
- Maintain company block library and spot check the work of others for standards compliance.
- Further develop company CAD standards and policies
- Interface with custom programming subcontractor to develop additional enhancements.
- Proactively identify and recommend changes to AutoCAD and REVIT software hardware process and standards as a part of continual development and improvement
- Train other users on AutoCAD and REVIT basics and custom programming workflow
- Develop and maintain a REVIT family and standard system specific to the company ensuring adherence to industry standards.
Requirements
- 3years of experience as a CAD Draftsperson Audio/Visual Design Engineer Broadcast Draftsperson or Broadcast Design Engineer
- 2years of experience as a REVIT Designer with BIM integration
- Experience working with architectural facility plans and creating Floor Plans Reflected Ceiling Plans elevations sections etc.
- Good working knowledge of AutoCAD REVIT BIM Vault Sheets Manager Xrefs Layers Scales Bluebeam PDF Editor and Construction Cloud
- Proficient with Microsoft Office including Word Outlook and Excel
- AVIXA CTS preferred
Other Requirements:
- Up to 10% travel
- Occasional evening and weekend work
Requirements: University graduate or equivalent experience with further studies in AV installation, data or voice communications, or drafting. Minimum of 4 years' experience in an electrical and/or communications environment. Understanding of project management practices and customer service obligations. Knowledge of electrical, electronic, communications, and computer products and equipment. Proficiency in oral and written English grammar, punctuation, and spelling. Familiarity with building construction and blueprint reading. Experience with the AV Commercial Integrator Navigate system, specifically for change orders and delay notices feedback to the Project Manager. CTS-I Certification Preferred
