WaterWastewater Treament Plant Operator

Company Overview: Our client is a Staterun utility provider seeking a Water/Wastewater Treatment Plant Operator.

Position Summary: A successful candidate shall have 1 year of relevant experience in landscaping or construction and be able to operate lawn equipment.

Work hour: 6 am 2:30 pm; potential change to four 10hour days

Responsibilities:

Operate wells ion exchange beds clarifiers evaporator and Reverse Osmosis

Start and Stop equipment

Balance plant flows

Perform equipment checks

Take Readings

Run plant chemistry

Make corrections when equipment is running outside of specification

Perform Predictive Maintenance

Light Mechanic type of work on equipment

Communicate plant status with ZD area supervisor other crafts and Nixon plant operations

Enter data into logs

Receive deliveries (chemicals to include chorine gas)

Plant outage work to include confined space entry and cleaning of tanks and vaults

Qualifications:

High School Diploma / GED required

At least 1 year of relevant experience in handling Laboratory equipment and Inventory control

At least 1 year of experience as an Assembler

Ability to use forklifts and scissor lifts

Must have a valid driver s license

Safety in an industrial setting

Operation of water treatment systems

Pump and valve types

Be able to use hand tools

Be able to turn valves

Self Contained Breathing Aparatus (SCBA) and respirator use

Water treatment and distribution licenses a plus

Be able to control plant equipment with the plant control system

Necessary Attributes:

Able to lift and carry materials up to 50 lbs.

Great attention to detail with accurate records & logs

Basic mathematical skills

Proficient in Microsoft Office

Great interpersonal skills
