Position: Academic Counselor for High School Students

Company Overview:

Our Client is a leading education consulting firm based in Irvine CA dedicated to providing comprehensive academic support and guidance to high school students. We are committed to helping students achieve their academic goals and prepare for success in college and beyond.

Position Overview:

We are seeking an experienced and passionate Academic Counselor to join our team and provide personalized academic counseling services to high school students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in education and counseling as well as a deep understanding of the challenges and opportunities facing high school students.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide individualized academic counseling to high school students including academic planning course selection and college preparation

Conduct assessments to identify students strengths weaknesses and academic goals

Develop personalized academic plans for each student based on their individual needs and goals

Monitor students progress and provide ongoing support and guidance to ensure academic success

Collaborate with teachers parents and other professionals to develop and implement strategies to support students academic growth

Stay uptodate on the latest trends and developments in education and college admissions to provide the most relevant and effective guidance to students

Assist with organizing and facilitating workshops and events related to academic planning and college preparation

Maintain accurate and organized records of students academic plans and progress

Communicate regularly with parents to provide updates on their childs academic progress and address any concerns or questions they may have

Support students in developing effective study skills and time management techniques

Act as a mentor and role model for students providing guidance and support beyond academic counseling

Qualifications:

Bachelors degree in Education Counseling or a related field

Minimum of 23 years of experience in academic counseling or a related field

Strong knowledge of high school curriculum and college admissions processes

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Strong organizational and timemanagement skills

Passion for working with high school students and helping them achieve their academic goals

Experience working with a diverse student population

Proficiency in Microsoft Office and educational software programs

Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion
