What the CEO role looks like
We are looking for an experienced CEO to join our multidisciplinary team at Linkwest. As CEO, you will provide hands-on leadership, strategic direction and management to Linkwest, working closely with our Board and Linkwest team to achieve our vision - Vibrant, inclusive, connected communities. You will promote and consolidate Linkwest s reputation for providing advocacy and representation across the Sector.
No two days will look the same in this role, but a typical day might entail .
- Influencing, communicating with and agitating government leaders to ensure the voice of community resource centres are included at the table, and pushing for more capacity to provide Linkwest s services.
- Being available to and communicating effectively with our small team to support their own and team development.
- Engaging with community resource centres and other stakeholders to proactively respond to emerging issues.
- Developing tender submissions and reporting on contractual obligations.
- Risk management reporting to the Board.
- Building alliances with other services and stakeholders to better support and empower community resource centres.
- Supporting and driving diverse revenue streams opportunities including fee for service work to ensure long-term sustainability.
The ideal person for this role will:
- Have an understanding of place-based approaches to community development
- Have demonstrated experience navigating changing political environments and corridors of power, who brings and develops strong stakeholder relationships that can withstand agitation to achieve the advocacy work
- Be a servant leader who walks alongside, encourages, develops, and leads from beside and behind
- Be entrepreneurial minded with experience in business and strategic development
Requirements

- Demonstrated commitment to the vision, values, purpose of Linkwest, with knowledge of place-based approaches to community development.
- Experience in a leadership position with community organisations with demonstrated values-based leadership.
- Demonstrated program, project and funding management and high-level administration experience.
- Demonstrated entrepreneurial approach to community organisation management, able to understand financial reports, as well as having a capacity to grow the organisation to meet emerging trends and needs.
- Demonstrated ability to plan, organise and prioritise workloads in order to meet agreed timeframes.
- Outstanding interpersonal skills, including a proven record in networking, partnering, influencing and negotiating with a wide range of people and entities.
- Well-developed verbal, written, interpersonal communication and critical thinking skills, for a range of audiences, confident in advocating, public speaking, and responding to the media.

We are seraching for someone who can meet most of the following: Hold an unrestricted legal practice certificate in Western Australia. Some experience in legal service delivery including representation, casework and providing legal advice. Demonstrated well-developed interpersonal skills including the ability to communicate effectively with young people who are dealing with a broad range of social and legal issues. Experience in working collaboratively within a small team environment. Demonstrated organisational skills including file and time management. National Police Clearance and Working with Children Check. Proficiency in the use of MS Office and SharePoint. Current Driver s License Ideally, you will possess the following attributes too: High ethical standards and values, and the ability to act with integrity and confidentiality. A commitment to working with youth within the legal field. Energy, enthusiasm and resilience (as you may be dealing with sensitive and confronting material. An understanding of and commitment to the work of community legal centres.
