Opening / Selling Statement: Our client is seeking a MidSr Level Java engineer for the engineering and delivery of microservices and APIs to support Customer Data. The team supports various midlayer services across the organization and to external partners and is seeking a strong Java Engineer with cloud experience.
Bestqualified candidates will have strong experiences in Java 8 Cloud Containerization Data Streaming and Agile/Scrum.

Job Duties

Be an active participant in all scrum ceremonies and lead in the delivery of the strategic roadmap.
Help define project scope & specifications and estimate resources required to develop the proposed solution.
Ensure that specifications and requirements are clearly articulated to the development teams and monitor timelines & progress.
Propose technical solutions.
Delivery of welldesigned highquality fully functional properly tested features fixes and enhancements.
Responsible for the full application development lifecycle and support.
Define and document best practices and strategies regarding application deployment and infrastructure maintenance.
Support continuous improvement by investigating alternatives and new technologies and presenting these for architectural review.
Troubleshooting and debugging to optimize performance.
Provide subject matter expertise and direction guidance and support on complex engagements.

Job Requirements

5 years experience with Java8
3 years experience with Spring boot
2 years experience with Containers (Docker and orchestration ie: Kubernetes or EKS or Redhat)
Strong understanding of HTTP/REST and OpenAPI docs
Experienced with at least one test framework (jbehave cucumber selenium junit) is required
Experienced with Agile/Scrum methodologies (backlog refinement standups retrospective)

Desired Skills & Experience

Streaming: Kafka Kinesis and Event Hubs are strongly desired
Datadog or New Relic a plus
Elastic Search a plus
Apigee a plus
