Your pay is based on whether you are in a local or travel position. A travel position is defined as residing more than 50 miles from the facility.
Job Summary: The Physical Therapist is responsible for planning and administering physical therapy treatment programs for patients to restore function relieve pain and prevent disability following disease injury or loss of a body part. This role involves evaluating patients developing treatment plans implementing therapeutic interventions and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations to assess physical condition identify limitations and determine appropriate treatment plans.
- Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs goals and physician recommendations.
- Administer therapeutic exercises manual therapy and other modalities to improve mobility strength and function.
- Educate patients and their families on exercises home programs and lifestyle modifications to support recovery and prevent future injuries.
- Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
- Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations treatments and progress notes.
- Collaborate with other healthcare professionals including physicians occupational therapists and nurses to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
- Stay current with advancements in physical therapy techniques and practices through continuing education and professional development.
- Adhere to all regulatory and compliance guidelines including those set by state licensing boards and professional organizations.
Qualifications:
- Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
- Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist.
- Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
- Advanced certifications in specialized areas of physical therapy (e.g. orthopedic sports geriatric) are a plus.
Experience:
- Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
- Experience in treating a variety of patient populations including pediatric adult and geriatric patients.
- Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred.
- Experience in a specialized area of physical therapy (e.g. orthopedic sports neurorehabilitation) is desirable.
Skills:
- Strong clinical reasoning and problemsolving skills.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients families and healthcare team members.
- Ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
- Proficiency in manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercises.
- Knowledge of current physical therapy practices techniques and modalities.
- Ability to motivate and inspire patients to actively participate in their recovery process.
- Strong organizational and timemanagement skills to manage a diverse caseload.
