Job Description

Job Title: Physical Therapist (Allied)

Location: Lexington KY 40513

Pay Rate: $50/hr

Duration: 13 weeks contract

Shift: 8hr Day

Guarantee Hours: 40


Your pay is based on whether you are in a local or travel position. A travel position is defined as residing more than 50 miles from the facility.

Job Summary: The Physical Therapist is responsible for planning and administering physical therapy treatment programs for patients to restore function relieve pain and prevent disability following disease injury or loss of a body part. This role involves evaluating patients developing treatment plans implementing therapeutic interventions and collaborating with other healthcare professionals to optimize patient outcomes.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct comprehensive patient evaluations to assess physical condition identify limitations and determine appropriate treatment plans.
  • Develop individualized treatment plans based on patient needs goals and physician recommendations.
  • Administer therapeutic exercises manual therapy and other modalities to improve mobility strength and function.
  • Educate patients and their families on exercises home programs and lifestyle modifications to support recovery and prevent future injuries.
  • Monitor patient progress and adjust treatment plans as necessary to achieve optimal outcomes.
  • Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient evaluations treatments and progress notes.
  • Collaborate with other healthcare professionals including physicians occupational therapists and nurses to ensure coordinated and comprehensive patient care.
  • Stay current with advancements in physical therapy techniques and practices through continuing education and professional development.
  • Adhere to all regulatory and compliance guidelines including those set by state licensing boards and professional organizations.

Qualifications:

  • Doctor of Physical Therapy (DPT) degree from an accredited physical therapy program.
  • Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.
  • Advanced certifications in specialized areas of physical therapy (e.g. orthopedic sports geriatric) are a plus.

Experience:

  • Previous experience in a clinical setting is preferred.
  • Experience in treating a variety of patient populations including pediatric adult and geriatric patients.
  • Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred.
  • Experience in a specialized area of physical therapy (e.g. orthopedic sports neurorehabilitation) is desirable.

Skills:

  • Strong clinical reasoning and problemsolving skills.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients families and healthcare team members.
  • Ability to develop and implement effective treatment plans tailored to individual patient needs.
  • Proficiency in manual therapy techniques and therapeutic exercises.
  • Knowledge of current physical therapy practices techniques and modalities.
  • Ability to motivate and inspire patients to actively participate in their recovery process.
  • Strong organizational and timemanagement skills to manage a diverse caseload.
  • Compassionate and patientcentered approach to care.
