Pay Rate: $39/hr

Duration: 13 weeks contract

Shift: 8hr Day

Guarantee Hours: 40

Your pay is based on whether you are in a local or travel position. A travel position is defined as residing more than 50 miles from the facility.

Job Summary: The Physical Therapist Assistant (PTA) works under the supervision of a licensed Physical Therapist to provide physical therapy services to patients. The PTA assists in implementing treatment plans documenting patient progress and ensuring the highest quality of patient care. This role requires effective communication clinical skills and the ability to work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities:

• Assist the Physical Therapist in implementing treatment plans to improve patient mobility function and overall wellbeing.
• Conduct therapeutic exercises manual therapy and other interventions as directed by the Physical Therapist.
• Monitor and document patient progress responses to treatment and any changes in condition.
• Educate patients and their families on exercises and activities to be performed at home.
• Ensure patient safety and comfort during therapy sessions.
• Maintain accurate and timely documentation of patient care in electronic medical records (EMR) systems.
• Communicate effectively with the Physical Therapist and other healthcare team members to coordinate patient care.
• Assist with scheduling and administrative tasks as needed.
• Adhere to all regulatory and compliance guidelines including those set by state licensing boards and professional organizations.

Qualifications:

• Associate degree from an accredited Physical Therapist Assistant program.
• Current state licensure or eligibility for licensure as a Physical Therapist Assistant.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification required.

Experience:

• Previous experience as a Physical Therapist Assistant in a clinical setting is preferred.
• Experience with electronic medical records (EMR) systems is preferred.
• Experience in various physical therapy settings such as outpatient inpatient home health or rehabilitation is beneficial.

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills to effectively interact with patients families and healthcare team members.
• Ability to follow treatment plans and instructions from the supervising Physical Therapist.
• Proficiency in therapeutic exercises and manual therapy techniques.
