Job Description:

Capital One is seeking two highly skilled Data Engineers to join our team. As a Data Engineer Lead you will be instrumental in driving the success of our data initiatives working closely with champions and breaking down tasks to achieve feature delivery.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop implement and optimize data engineering solutions using Java and Scala (Scala experience is preferred but not mandatory as it has a small learning curve).
• Utilize Spark and AWS to handle largescale data processing and cloudbased data solutions.
• Collaborate with a champion to break down tasks and ensure successful feature implementation.
• Contribute to increasing task force capacity to handle additional deliverables.
• Participate in a 1hour Zoom video interview with Mauricio Torrejon as part of the selection process.

Required Skills:

• Minimum of 6 years of experience as a Data Engineer.
• Proficiency in Java; Scala experience is advantageous but not mandatory.
• Expertise in Spark for data processing.
• Strong knowledge of AWS services for cloudbased data solutions.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Prior experience with Capital One is highly desirable.
• Bachelors degree is not required; performance and capacity to perform the work are prioritized over credentials.
• Onsite presence in McLean VA is preferred but remote work is possible for candidates who can work in EST zone hours.
• Preference is given to candidates who can work in McLean VA and have prior experience with Capital One.
