Job Description

Our client is looking to hire a suitable candidate to fill the Finance Manager position.

Responsibilities:
  • Take ownership and be Involved in all aspects of the Firm s Accounting circle.
  • Prepare the firm s monthly financial statements. This includes a review and analysis of the Firm s income statement and the preparation of various supporting schedules
  • In collaboration with the Partners, schedule monthly financial meetings to discuss and carry out an analysis of the firm s financial performance for the month under review.
  • Ensure that all statutory filings are carried out as and when due.
  • Assist with the preparation of the firm s annual budget
  • Maintain the integrity and accuracy of the firm s General Ledger
  • Prepare variance analysis write-ups and financial analytic schedules Respond to various ad hoc requests, such as general ledger summary and detail reports and the reclassification of expenses
  • Prepare appropriate journal entries for depreciation, loan payments, transfers, etc.
  • Monitor the cash balances of the firm s bank accounts to make sure accounts are appropriately funded. Report on cash balances to the firm s management daily
  • Responsible for the reconciliation of all Firm bank accounts, including the Firm s main operating accounts. This includes researching and resolving all bank reconciliation issues.
  • Administer the recordkeeping for the firm s Attorney Escrow Account and Client Account
  • Assist with the Firm s annual audit. This includes preparing schedules requested by the auditors as well as researching and answering all questions from the auditors as necessary
  • Responsible for all non-payroll related Firm tax returns on a monthly, quarterly, or annual basis. This position is also the point person for all audits relating to these tax returns
  • Other duties may be assigned to fully meet the requirements of the position.


Requirements

  • Minimum academic qualification of an HND/ Bachelor s degree in Finance, Accounting, or any of the social sciences with a minimum of second class lower.
  • Experience with Accounting Software packages
  • Minimum 5 years of accounting experience
  • Law firm experience will be an added advantage
  • Must be a chartered accountant
  • Strong knowledge of accounting principles
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
  • Must be well organized and be able to multi-task
  • Ability to work well with individuals at all levels
  • Able to work independently and learn new tasks quickly
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong technical skills, including a strong knowledge of and experience with Microsoft Excel


Benefits

  • Remuneration: NGN 515,000 gross
  • Net (after deductions of paye & employee s pension)- NGN 420,000
  • Employers pension contribution
  • Registration with HMO (medical health provider)
  • Leave allowance (10% of annual basic)
  • 13th month
  • 25% commission on the profit earned for briefs he brings to the organization.
