Job Description

Our client is looking for a serious injury solicitor with 5 years to join their Cambridge offices.

  • Manage a caseload of catastrophic injury cases ensuring highquality legal advice and representation. The files will include brain damage and spinal injury cases with some valued in excess of 1m.
  • Conduct thorough investigations assess liability and provide sound legal opinions to clients.
  • Collaborate with medical experts barristers and other relevant parties to build strong cases.
  • Negotiate settlements participate in mediations and represent clients in court when necessary.
  • Keep uptodate with legal developments case law and legislation relating to catastrophic injury claims.
  • Maintain accurate and detailed case files ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and procedures.
  • Provide exceptional client service demonstrating empathy professionalism and effective communication throughout the process.
  • Contribute to business development activities networking and raising the firms profile within the field.

Requirements

  • Qualified solicitor with minimum 8 years PQE and experience handling a caseload of complex Fasttrack Catastrophic Injury files.
  • Demonstrable expertise in handling complex catastrophic injury cases from inception to settlement or trial.
  • Solid knowledge of relevant legislation case law and legal procedures.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to assess liability damages and quantum accurately.
  • Excellent communication skills both written and verbal with the ability to explain complex legal matters in a clear and concise manner.
  • Proven negotiation and advocacy skills with experience in achieving favourable outcomes for clients.
  • Ability to work independently manage a demanding caseload and meet deadlines.
  • Empathy sensitivity and the ability to build rapport with clients who have suffered catastrophic injuries.
  • Commitment to continuous professional development and staying abreast of industry trends.
  • Membership in relevant professional bodies and accreditations is desirable.
