Job Title: Mechanical Engineer
Location: Smyrna TN
Type: Contract with possible extension
Summary:
Embark on an exciting career journey as a Battery Manufacturing Facility Utility Mechanical Design Engineer in our dynamic GID Engineering team. Join a group of passionate engineers and contribute your mechanical expertise to shape the future of sustainable energy solutions. Your work will directly impact the development of stateoftheart battery manufacturing facilities making a real difference in the world.
Responsibilities:
  • Design Innovation: Collaborate with a team of experts to conceptualize design and develop innovative mechanical systems for cuttingedge battery manufacturing facilities. Your creativity and problemsolving skills will be crucial in optimizing system performance efficiency and sustainability.
  • Technical Expertise: Utilize your extensive design experience in developing detailed and accurate system designs. Your expertise will ensure seamless project coordination and collaboration. Perform QAQC review of project interim deliverable packages (30% 60% 90% IFC) and ensure adherence to design standards codes and regulatory requirements.
  • Code Compliance: Ensure adherence to all relevant codes standards and regulations including ASME NFPA and ASHRAE. Your knowledge of these regulations will guarantee the safety and reliability of the facilities.
  • Sustainability Integration: Integrate sustainable design principles and energyefficient practices into your work. You will play a key role in reducing the environmental impact of our facilities and promoting sustainable manufacturing practices.
  • Teamwork and Communication: Collaborate effectively with crossfunctional teams including electrical process and controls engineers to deliver highquality and integrated mechanical systems. Your strong communication skills will foster a positive and productive work environment.
  • Effectively participate in project meetings presentations and progress reports effectively report issues and provide recommendations
  • Foster positive and collaborative relationships with project engineering teams understanding their needs and providing exceptional customer service.
Qualifications:
  • B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field Master is a PLUS
  • 5 years of experience in mechanical design related to industrial facilities utility systems
  • Largescale manufacturing facility experience including new or retrofit factories for highvolume and hightech manufacturing processes is a plus
  • Extensive knowledge of mechanical systems and equipment including process distribution piping air compressors and dryers vacuum systems pumps heat exchangers pure water process chilled and hot water and nitrogen generation
  • Working knowledge of applicable design guides and standards related to utility systems (local building codes ASME NFPA ANSI ASHRAE etc.)
  • Experience in system modeling using Pipe Flo or other simulation software
  • Strong teamwork and communication skills
  • Strong problemsolving skills and an aptitude for learning quickly
