Job Title:
High Performance Auto Tuning Instructor
Job Summary:
Under general supervision teach highperformance tuning including theory and extensive handson applications as assigned by the department chair.
Roles and Responsibilities:
Instruction and evaluation of students in a live work/class setting as students perform mechanical and electronic modifications to automobiles.
Teaching duties include covering a variety of aftermarket tune software carburation electronic fuel injection forced air induction nitrous oxide engine and chassis dynanometer and shop safety.
Assists with the development of curriculum and syllabus.
Supervises and assists in maintaining HPRT lab and classroom equipment.
Participates in college governance committee work student advising etc.
Participate in available training to stay current in highperformance automotive racing technology.
Performs other duties as required.
Minimum Preferred Qualifications:
Appropriate degree and/or equivalent experience as an automotive tuner.
Indepth experience with engine and chassis dynamometer tuning and applications with natural aspiration forced air induction nitrous oxide carbureted and fuelinjected systems.
Experience with highperformance engine building modification and testing.
Community college or technical school teaching experience preferred.
Ability to teach and motivate students of diverse backgrounds and learning styles.
Ability to maintain professionalism and use good judgment problemsolving and decisionmaking skills.
Excellent planning and organizational skills; ability to meet deadlines.
Excellent presentation skills including strong written and verbal communication skills.
Ability to work a flexible and adaptable schedule.
Computer literate in MS Office.
