Senior Estimator

Overview

We are seeking a Senior Estimator specializing in civil construction projects focusing on highways drainage systems bridges and roads. Experience with FDOT estimating is essential.

Responsibilities

• Provide comprehensive estimating services for projects ranging from $100k to $75 million.
• Integrate historical data from purchase orders subcontracts and productivity reports into unit and labor hour calculations.
• Analyze project plans requirements specifications and drawings attending prebid meetings to define the scope and estimate contents.
• Assess bid documents to evaluate project risks and opportunities.
• Conduct precise quantity takeoffs materials pricing and determine labor and equipment costs.
• Understand project logistics and scheduling requirements.
• Prepare bid packages and evaluate subcontractor and supplier bids.
• Offer conceptual and final estimating insights for complex projects.
• Support personnel with technical guidance for disciplinespecific estimates.
• Maintain all documentation to substantiate estimate figures.
• Track awarded contracts which may include pricing additional work change orders and preparing subcontracts.
• Perform additional tasks as needed.

Qualifications

• Minimum of 5 years of experience in construction estimating with expertise in road construction and FDOT.
• Proficient in estimating various projects and coordinating team efforts.
• Deep understanding of construction costs and engineering principles.
• A Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering is preferred but not required.
• Familiarity with HCSS Heavy Bid Software and AGTEK 4D is a plus.
• Strong attention to detail with the ability to identify risks and costsaving opportunities.
