Sibley Memorial Hospital a member of Johns Hopkins Medicine has a distinguished history of serving the community since its founding in 1890. As a notforprofit and fullservice community hospital Sibley offers medical surgical intensive care obstetric oncology orthopedic and skilled nursing inpatient services as well as a 24hour Emergency Department. Sibleys campus is also home to Grand Oaks an assisted living residence; a medical building with physician offices and ambulatory surgery and imaging centers.

General Summary:

  • Responsible for oversight of Pharmacy department operations including scheduling personnel management procurement of medications sterile and nonsterile compounding day to day operations and coordination of pharmacy workflow and integration of pharmacy technology to support best practices.
  • Participates in qualityassurance activities represents department on hospitalwide and unit specific committees and serves as a resource for other pharmacists and health care practitioners.
  • In collaboration with Director of Pharmacy Clinical Operations Manager counterpart Clinical Pharmacy Manager and Informatics Pharmacist actively involved in the origin planning implementation and operation of departmental projects and services.
  • Works closely with internal and external customers and internal resources to develop establish provide and monitor pharmacy services for direct patient care.
  • Oversees and manages sterile compounding processes and hazardous drug program to ensure compliance with regulatory standards (TJC CMS USP 797 and 800).
  • Manages the staffing recruitment discipline training and development of direct reports to support pharmacy operations and employee growth.

Minimum Education and Experience:

  1. Graduation from an accredited College of Pharmacy resulting in PharmD or Bachelor of Science in Pharmacy required.
  2. Active District of Columbia pharmacist license required.
  3. Completion of an ASHP accredited residency program or equivalent experience required.
  4. Advanced training to obtain skills consistent with an MS MBA MPH or equivalent managerial experience is required.
  5. At least two years of hospital pharmacy practice experience is required.
  6. At least two years of pharmacy supervisory experience preferred.

Shift: FullTime Day Shift. No OnCall or weekend work is required.
