Senior Technical Support Engineer

Integrum Power Engineering Part of the OCU Group is an electrical engineering design & build contractor and ICP specialising in high voltage power transmission & distribution projects. About the job

Reporting to the Engineering Manager you will lead the continuous improvement across all the engineering functions focusing on design engineering/construction assurance innovation and the development of electrical power systems equipment and infrastructure. Your expertise and leadership will contribute to the successful development of the IPE Engineering Team the execution of projects business improvements and the delivery of highquality engineering design solutions.

Responsibilities:

• Provide expert advice and support associated with the provision of Engineering Design to IPE our customers and suppliers.
• Lead on the production of common design solutions such as standardised design and general design improvements.
• Support the professional development for the Engineering Design Team.
• Provide advice support and input into technical investigations.
• Lead the setting of policy standards specifications processes and systems.
• Support the development and delivery of technical capability required within IPE including competence development design and the provision of a training structure.
• Lead and support the development of strategy technology and assets across the IPE Engineering function.
• Liaise with the supply chain and product manufacturers to understand and propose new ways of working to improve efficiency.
• Proactively research and respond to changes in the internal and external requirements and practice which impact upon policy and standards.
• Identify opportunities for technical and business process improvement and innovation developing business cases and where required.
• Compile maintain evolve and implement management trackers as necessary to inform the control of productivity and delivery progress.
• Support Engineering Design verification and validation activities.
• Providing full technical support to the IPE Engineering and Construction Teams
• Validate construction activities against the design.
• Lead and contribute to the development of engineers and graduates within the Engineering Design Team
• Lead and support the close out of projects.
• Undertake the role of Design Engineer as and when required.

What you will need to be successful:

• Educated to degree level in a relevant engineering discipline with ideally incorporated Engineer status.
• Experience in CAD engineering and software
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong problemsolving skills and ability to work independently.
• Good communication skills and ability to work in a team environment.
• Ability to mentor and train graduates and new engineers.
• Have experience working in or with industry preferably in a multidisciplinary design development and production environment creating bespoke solutions.
• Have the soft skills and experience to motivate teams coach team members.
• Engineering experience on projects in the energy/transport sectors and associated knowledge and expertise in technical standards and engineering solutions.
• Ability to support in the quotation of new works using estimating software.
• Thorough understanding of both LV and HV design work within a contracting environment.
• Outstanding selfreliance resourcefulness and initiative flexible approach and excellent time management.
