The Role
As an experienced NPD Manager you will take ownership to drive and manage key projects from concept to launch developing the Tangle Teezer brand and innovation pipeline. This role reports to the Head of NPD with one direct report and sits within the wider Innovation team.
You will need to have experience in managing innovation or product launches in the consumer goods market (ideally beauty and haircare would be a plus). With a marketing or commercial background you will be adept at understanding consumer insights and then building a product proposition that is commercially sound and impactful for the end user & their hair.
In this role youll get to:
- Have strategic ownership of multiple key projects and manage throughthegate processes to develop the Tangle Teezer product and innovation pipeline.
- Be a category and consumer expert understand & communicate consumer needs competitors benefits critical features emerging trends and commercial expectations.
- Build and present business case feasibility formulate & propose category size unit sales and revenue opportunity based on retailer and distributor financial expectations.
- Collaborate closely with internal and external stakeholders to bring your product to life across product designers manufacturing teams and operations writing compelling briefs rooted in insight.
- Shape and brief consumer testing & claim research via 3rd party research agency and laboratory partner
- Translate insight into artwork briefs and sell in propositions to land in the market with excellence
- Drive & influence Daytoday project management and active problem solving to ensure delivery against timings with influencing at all levels to communicate the vision
- You will manage and coach 1 direct report whilst playing a key role in the wider team
What we are looking for in you:
- Extensive & proven experience and track record. Minimum of 4/5 years in an NPD or similar role within FMCG having experience in beauty or hair is highly desirable.
- Experience in global markets (specifically the US or Asian markets) required
- Have experience in managing multiple projects and confidence in leading crossfunctional teams with strong communication skills (creative product developers legal operations & marketing teams)
- Strong consumer & commercial understanding: consumer insights marketing commercial and P&L / financial structure.
- Experienced project manager with strong problemsolving and collaboration skills proactively brings new ways of thinking to achieve better results
- Demonstrated experience influencing senior teams as to your strategic vision
- Experience in team management
