Responsibilities:

  • Screen students and accept referrals in accordance with established program procedures.
  • Assess design and provide instruction to learners with identified special needs individually or in small groups.
  • Develop assessment plans administer assessments and interpret student performance on informal and formal assessments.
  • Prepare written reports as required.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with parents guardians teachers and members of the school site special education team.
  • Meet with parents and team members on a regular basis to review student progress and work on individual educationalrelated needs.
  • Collaborate with members of the special and general education staff to develop and maintain standards for curriculum access and progress.
  • Participate in professional growth activities such as conferences workshops staff meetings and visitations.
  • Schedule and maintain individual and group therapy sessions in accordance with student needs and IEPs.
  • Provide training direction and supervision for assigned ancillary staff.
  • Make and/or recommend appropriate environmental modifications needed to facilitate students’ access to general education curriculum and instruction.
  • Request materials and supplies in a timely manner in accordance with established district procedures.
  • Maintain attendance accounting and documentation of services provided.
  • Submit required reports and IEP documentation in a timely fashion.
  • Comply with the rules and regulations set forth in IDEA the California Education Code; Title V and best practices policies and procedures of the Loomis Union School District.

Qualifications:

  • Valid California Credential authorizing specialized services to the identified student population.
  • Completion of clinical fellowship year (Candidates may be considered).
  • Professional training and paid or volunteer experience working with individuals with disabilities.
  • CLAD or equivalent.
  • National certification in ASHA/CCC.
  • Current adult and child CPR card.
  • Current First Aid card.
