Job Description

Position Title: Surgical Scrub Technician (Allied)

Location: Rochester NY 14617

Pay Rate: $50/hr

Duration: 13 Weeks Contract

Guaranteed Hours: 40

Shift: 8hr Day

Job Summary: The Surgical Scrub Technician (Allied) assists surgeons and other medical professionals in operating rooms and similar environments. The role includes preparing and maintaining a sterile field handing instruments to surgeons during procedures and ensuring the operating room is clean and wellstocked.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare the operating room and sterile field for surgical procedures.
  • Assist in positioning and draping patients.
  • Hand surgical instruments and supplies to the surgeon.
  • Maintain the sterile field and adhere to infection control protocols.
  • Perform surgical counts with the circulating nurse.
  • Assist in the maintenance and sterilization of surgical instruments and equipment.
  • Ensure proper functioning of surgical instruments and report any malfunctions.
  • Assist with postoperative cleanup and preparation for the next procedure.
  • Adhere to all hospital and departmental policies and procedures.

Experience:

  • Previous experience as a Surgical Scrub Technician or in a similar role is required.
  • Experience in various types of surgeries (e.g. general orthopedic cardiovascular) is preferred.
  • Familiarity with sterile techniques and operating room protocols.

Skills:

  • Excellent knowledge of surgical instruments and procedures.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to maintain concentration in a fastpaced environment.
  • Good communication skills and ability to work effectively in a team.
  • Physical stamina to stand for long periods and assist in surgical procedures.
  • Ability to remain calm and efficient under pressure.
  • Certification from an accredited Surgical Technologist program (preferred).

Education:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent.
  • Completion of an accredited Surgical Technologist program.

Certifications:

  • Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) preferred.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

3 years experience minimum
MondayFriday days and evenings 8 hr MondayFriday 9a5p
Call requirement (3 call shifts each 6 week time blockFri Sat Sun Including holidays)
Experience in Ortho Neuro Robot GYN Urology General and Vascular necessary
Candidates need to be certified techs and BLS.
