JNR RD Food Technologist

Our Client within the Food Manufacuring Industry is seeking a Junior R&D (Research and Development) Food Technologist to join their dynamic team. The role primarily involves assisting in new product development (NPD) processes conducting tests on raw materials and products and ensuring compliance with quality standards. The ideal candidate will be a proactive individual with a passion for innovation in the food industry.

• Bachelors degree in Food Science Food Technology or BSc Consumer Science.
• ecent graduate or minimum of 1 year experience in the FMCG (FastMoving Consumer Goods) industry.
• Selfmotivated disciplined and diligent in their approach to work.
• Creative and innovative mindset with a keen interest in food product development.
• Highly organized and capable of working effectively under pressure.
• Excellent communication skills both verbal and written.
• Proactive problem solver with a solutiondriven attitude.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office suite and basic computer skills.
• Positive team player with a handson meticulous approach to tasks.
• Presentable as they will have customerfacing responsibilities.
• Must possess own means of transport.
• Available to start as soon as possible.

• Conducting tests on raw materials to explore cost reduction or replacement alternatives.
• Performing shelf life and product testing on raw and final products.
• Managing inventory of lab raw materials and ensuring lab cleanliness and organization.
• Assisting in recipe development and participating in tasting/sensory evaluations.
• Preparation and dispatch of samples to local and international customers.
• Providing support for other R&D functions as needed.
• Documenting project completion and maintaining accurate records.
• Assisting in the NPD process from concept through to product launch:
  • Developing NPD briefs.
  • Creating specification sheets.
  • Handling label design and related administrative documents for export.
• Assisting with internal factory trials to ensure product consistency and quality.
