Job Description

The Center for Sustainable Finance and Private Wealth (CSP) is a research and training institution at the University of Zurich. We work at the intersection of research wealth holders and investment professionals to generate knowledge and mobilize capital toward sustainable development and growth. Also called impact.

Located at the Department of Finance at University of Zurich we are a spinoff from a related research and training program at the Initiative for Responsible Investment (IRI) at Harvard Kennedy School and the former Center for Microfinance at the University of Zurich. We are deeply connected with the research practitioner and network community in the global impact space (for example World Economic Forum MIT Oxford University The ImPact toniic CoImpact) and collaborate in the form of joint events campaigns and practitioner research.

As our Project Management and Engagement Specialist you will be responsible for a variety of project management events and engagement tasks connected to the activities of the CSP. In this role youll have the opportunity to manage exciting projects and engage with stakeholders in the forefront of impact investing.

Tasks

You will work closely with the Operations Trainings Community and Communications workstreams on the daytoday activities of the CSP. This includes but is not limited to:

Project Management:

  • Daytoday and strategic project management support for various workstreams including managing resource allocations new requests developing effective project plans and accompanying projects from kickoff to finish.

Event Planning and Coordination:

  • Event coordination for trainings community and online events including tasks before during and after the event. Tasks may include: booking venues registering and communicating with participants acting as the coordination point for stakeholders arranging printouts IT coordination onsite logistics support finance tracking and arranging swag to participants.
  • Program management support for trainings including supporting recruitment efforts and stakeholder coordination.

Content Creation and Communication:

  • Drafting and editing content visuals and videos for various communication channels including for our newsletters and presentations.
  • Website content updates and proofreading.

Data Management and Reporting:

  • Tool management including CRM and project management development and maintenance.
  • Collecting survey responses and developing visuallyappealing reports.

Administrative Support:

  • Financial administration including creating invoices tracking revenues and expenses entering and reviewing external and internal expenses and more.
  • Contract administration including working with the internal team and the Legal team on developing reviewing and finalizing contracts.
  • Various other but related adhoc requests as they come up.

You will be part of the Operations Team and report directly to the Head of Operations. This is a varied role and requires a flexible and adaptable mindset.

Requirements

  • A minimum of threefive years of progressively responsible experience is required particularly in the fields of project management event management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Very good written and oral communication skills in English (required) and German (preferred). The Centers main language is English; however the main University language is German.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills to collaborate with experts globally and be part of a dynamic and growing team.
  • Ability to coordinate multiple parallel workflows and projects in a very dynamic work environment.
  • Very high attention to detail and highest standards of work quality.
  • Drive to be proactive and independent in your work whilst taking direction from team members.
  • Ability to use a variety of software including MS Office Asana Zoho / CRM tools and Zoom.
  • Permission to work in Switzerland.
  • Located in/around Zrich or able to commute to Zrich often.

Please note: We operate with Cantonal salary scales. Our salaries may therefore be lower than those in the private sector. The salary is determined according to work experience and function together with the HR team of UZH.
