The Senior Paralegal will support the functioning of the Company Secretarial department. This position reports to the Group Company Secretary and is responsible for assisting with corporate governance and statutory compliance across the Group. The role requires a dedicated and detailoriented professional with strong organisational administrative and legal skills to manage various tasks and ensure adherence to legal and regulatory requirements.
Duties include and are not limited to:
Document Preparation: Draft review and manage a variety of legal documents including contracts agreements resolutions and minutes.
Research: Conduct legal research on relevant laws regulations and legal precedents to support the departments needs.
File Management: Organize and maintain physical and electronic legal files and records to ensure they are uptodate and easily accessible.
Client Interaction: Communicate with internal and external clients providing necessary information and assistance.
Compliance: Assist in ensuring compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements including maintaining safe custody of the company s Memorandum of Incorporation (MOI) incorporation documents and other relevant agreements.
Administrative Duties: Perform administrative tasks such as scheduling meetings preparing reports and maintaining calendars for the Secretarial team.
Service Excellence: Provide excellent service in all areas of this role ensuring high standards of confidentiality and professionalism.
Education and Experience
Minimum of 5 years of demonstrable working experience as an administrative assistant or paralegal preferably in a corporate or commercial law environment.
Competencies include excellent organizational coordination administrative and secretarial skills; strong verbal and written communication abilities; high attention to detail; and strong time management and planning skills.
Compensation and Benefits
R600k per annum (negotiable)
