Level 1 IoT Engineer

Job Description:

This role focuses on delivering ISA95 Level 0/1 and IoTrelated equipment/process automation and all ancillary systems required for industrial equipment/process automation for industrial customers. It encompasses project management to ensure systems are deployed at the right price quality and schedule.

Responsibilities:

• Deliver ISA95 Level 0/1 and IoTrelated automation/control systems.
• Specify and support ancillary processes/systems.
• Perform analysis architecture design development deployment and management.
• Typically based within the customers Engineering/Operational Technology (OT) or Maintenance organization.
• Sometimes referred to as an Automation Engineer or Controls Engineer.

Capabilities:

• Technical Expertise:
  • Deep understanding of edge device/system concepts and IoT device integration.
  • Knowledge of edge hardware/software devices/systems including PLC/PAC I/O sensors Layer2 switches and communication protocols (ISA95 Level 01).
  • Development and deployment of industrial application/system interfaces business logic database interfaces and analytics.
• Documentation:
  • Create clear concise job instruction sheets for technical and nontechnical personnel.
  • Proficient in technical writing and documentation emphasizing instructional materials for hardware and software operations.
  • Experience with diagrammatic representations using tools like Microsoft Visio.
• Communication & Training:
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills for effective interaction and instructional content creation.
  • Conduct training sessions and workshops for staff on new devices and processes.
• Collaboration & Teamwork:
  • Work closely with IoT engineers production engineering and maintenance teams.
• Industry Knowledge:
  • Familiarity with industry best practices and standards.
  • Understanding of compliance and security issues related to edge technologies.
• Project Management:
  • Manage industrial projects design deployment and maintenance.
  • Project oversight reporting requirements analysis estimating scoping proposal building and customer communication.
  • Manage thirdparty supplier activities and deliverables.
  • Deliver projects across 35 different customers.

Education/Training:

• Required: BSEE/BSME (ABET accredited)
• Optional: 1year postBS or workstudy experience in automation and control design. Professional Engineer (PE) registration is desirable but not required.
