Job Description

Job Description:

As a Labor Relations Specialist you will be responsible for managing labor relations activities ensuring compliance with labor laws and fostering positive relationships between the company and its employees. You will handle labor disputes negotiate labor agreements and advise management on laborrelated issues.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the primary point of contact for labor relations matters including handling grievances and labor disputes.
  • Interpret and ensure compliance with labor laws collective bargaining agreements and company policies.
  • Conduct investigations and resolve employee complaints and disputes in a fair and timely manner.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with labor unions and employee representatives.
  • Negotiate collective bargaining agreements and other labor contracts.
  • Advise management on labor relations strategies policies and best practices.
  • Prepare and present reports on labor relations activities trends and issues.
  • Conduct training sessions for management and employees on labor relations topics and compliance requirements.
  • Monitor changes in labor laws and regulations and update company policies accordingly.
  • Collaborate with HR and legal teams to ensure consistent application of labor relations policies and practices.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in Human Resources Labor Relations Business Administration or a related field.
  • Proven 2 years of experience as a Labor Relations Specialist or in a similar role.
  • Previous experience in Construction/Manufacturing is a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of labor laws collective bargaining agreements and dispute resolution processes.
  • Excellent negotiation conflict resolution and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
  • Effective communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Experience working with labor unions and employee representatives.
  • Professional certification (e.g. SHRMCP SHRMSCP PHR SPHR) is a plus.
