DIMENSIONS OF ROLE

The role of a finance manager is critical to an organizations success. A finance manager is responsible for securing funding making investment and financial forecasting decisions managing liquidity and working capital and making capital budgeting dividend and risk management decisions.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Financial Planning and Forecasting: Developing financial projections and forecasting future financial performance based on historical data and market trends.

2. Budgeting: Creating and managing budgets for the organization ensuring alignment with strategic goals and monitoring adherence throughout the fiscal year.

3. Financial Reporting: Preparing regular financial reports including profit and loss statements balance sheets and cash flow statements. These reports are crucial for management decisionmaking and compliance with regulatory requirements.

4. Risk Management: Identifying and assessing financial risks and implementing strategies to mitigate these risks. This includes managing liquidity credit interest rate and operational risks.

5. Financial Analysis: Conducting financial analysis to support strategic initiatives evaluating investment opportunities and assessing the financial feasibility of projects.

6. Financial Compliance: Ensuring compliance with financial regulations and standards both internally and externally (e.g. tax regulations financial reporting standards).

7. Strategic Financial Planning: Providing strategic financial insights and recommendations to senior management contributing to the overall strategic direction of the organization.

8. Relationship Management: Building and maintaining relationships with external stakeholders such as auditors financial institutions investors and regulatory bodies.

9. Team Leadership and Development: Leading and managing a team of finance professionals providing guidance coaching and development opportunities.

10. Technology and Systems Management: Overseeing financial systems and technologies to ensure efficient and accurate financial operations and reporting.

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE
Skills
1. Financial Analysis: Ability to analyze financial data interpret trends and make recommendations based on findings.

2. Budgeting and Forecasting: Proficiency in creating budgets forecasting future financial performance and monitoring variances.

3. Financial Reporting: Experience in preparing financial statements (income statement balance sheet cash flow statement) and ensuring compliance with accounting standards.

4. Strategic Planning: Capability to contribute to strategic decisionmaking by providing financial insights and analysis.

Risk Management: Knowledge of financial risks and ability to implement strategies to mitigate them.

5. Compliance: Understanding of financial regulations and standards ensuring adherence to them.

6. Leadership and Team Management: Ability to lead a team delegate tasks and provide guidance and mentorship to team members.

7. Communication: Strong verbal and written communication skills to interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.

8. Analytical Skills: Critical thinking and problemsolving abilities to address complex financial issues.

9. Technical Skills: Proficiency in financial software and systems (e.g. ERP systems financial modeling tools Excel).

Qualifications
1. Bachelors degree in finance and accounting or professional certifications (e.g. CPA ACCA etc).

2. At least 35 years of relevant experience in similar role

3. Relevant insurance and contact center (BPO) experience is preferred.
