Job Description
Purpose of the Position
Sourcing negotiating and purchasing a wide range of items and services for the R&D center while working closely with the researchers engineers and other internal stakeholders to ensure correct materials equipment and services required to drive innovation and achievement of goals keeping an eye on cost savings and efficient vendor selection.
Key Roles & Responsibilities The major / primary roles and responsibilities of the job will be as follows including but not limited to:
o Collaborate with the internal teams to understand their specific needs and requirements of equipment materials services and spares including those related to prototyping and development cycles.
O Understanding technical drawings & place order to competent supplier after negotiations based on the required parameters.
O Conduct thorough market research to identify qualified suppliers with appropriate experience. For the business needs considering factors like technical expertise adherence to research timelines contract management capabilities and ability to supply the required spares.
O Develop and implement effective sourcing strategies to secure the best value for the company considering factors like total cost of ownership quality potential for innovation partnerships with vendors strong contract terms and efficient spares procurement strategies.
O Negotiate contracts with suppliers to obtain favorable terms and conditions including price delivery timelines quality standards intellectual property considerations clear service level agreements (SLAs) and costeffective spares procurement options.
O Coordinate the contracts with the internal teams legal and the central purchase team. Negotiate contracts with suppliers ensuring alignment with the business needs and the best cost for the organization.
O Manage the purchasing process from requisition to receipt ensuring timely delivery adherence to company policies and efficient spares procurement.
O Build and maintain strong relationships with key suppliers fostering open communication and collaboration to ensure alignment with business goals effective contract management and reliable spares procurement.
O Analyze purchasing data to identify opportunities for cost savings and process improvements within the context of R&D procurement including spares optimization.
O Complete the purchase process in SAP.
O Prepare and submit monthly reports / adhoc reports on need basis.
Requirements
Skills Knowledge & Competencies
o Strong understanding of procurement best practices including negotiation techniques sourcing strategies contract management (including the contract lifecycle) knowledge of equipment spares and services procurement.
O Excellent analytical and problemsolving skills with the ability to adapt to the fastpaced and evolving nature of business.
O Experience in using procurement software and contract management systems.
O Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously meet deadlines and prioritize effectively within the context of business. O Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a collaborative environment.
O Must have indepth knowledge of SAP MM module.
O Excellent communication interpersonal and negotiation skills.
O Strong analytical thinking and problemsolving skills.
O Proficiency in Microsoft Office and with business application software purchasing and resource planning systems.
Experience
o At Least 68 years experience in purchase function preferably in an R&D environment.
Education Qualifications
o BE / B.Tech in Mechanical / Electronics.
