Job Description

We are looking for a Customs Specialist in Wilmer TX.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Review import and export documents to ensure accuracy of customs declaration paperwork and facilitate smooth customs clearance processes.

Track the entire customs clearance process for import and export goods promptly address any issues that arise and enhance customs declaration efficiency.

Ensure timely return and proper storage of customs declaration documents in accordance with customs requirements.

Manage various permits required during customs clearance oversee compliance with certificate usage requirements and complete monthly reports and data statistics forms as needed.

Utilize expertise to simulate tariff and duties including HMF and MPF for complex solar products with challenging HTS codes.

Understand and manage risk control points related to L/C presentation to facilitate smooth document processing.

Vigilantly monitor the movement of bonded materials and finished products to prevent misuse and loss.

Ensure imports comply with applicable regulations identify process improvements and collaborate with the team to mitigate compliance risks.

Serve as a subject matter expert on CountryofOrigin determination HTS code classification and Free Trade Agreement analysis.

Ensure compliance with all CTPAT related initiatives for Trina Solar.

Develop and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for service providers and provide performance reports.

Identify opportunities for continuous improvement in systems processes and procedures to enhance efficiency and reduce costs.

Collaborate crossfunctionally with global and regional teams to achieve import trade compliance goals.

Conduct periodic analytical reviews of internal team processes and data to maintain efficiency and accuracy and update desktop procedures accordingly.

Conduct postentry audits in accordance with established compliance requirements.

Performing other work arranged by department leaders.


KNOWLEDGE SKILLS AND ABILITIES

Possess an Associate Degree or higher qualification.

Have a minimum of 5 years of experience in customsrelated roles with a thorough understanding of import and export operations and processing trade procedures.

Demonstrate experience working with various government agencies such as CBP EPA FDA and USDA.

Proficient in Microsoft Office applications with strong skills in Excel and Word.

Prior experience in clearing machine parts and valve products is preferred.

Possess exceptional organizational and communication skills both written and verbal.

Ability to thrive in a teamoriented environment manage multiple tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines effectively.

Knowledge of the Chinese language is advantageous but not mandatory.


OTHER PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

Been able to lift up to 25 pounds.

Been able to communicate verbally efficiently.

Sedentary work. Repetitive motion. Substantial movements (motions) of the wrists hands and/or fingers.

The worker is required to have close visual acuity to perform an activity such as: preparing and analyzing data and figures; transcribing; viewing a computer terminal; extensive reading.

Full time telework with some traveling locally nationally or out of the designated region for training purposes or any company activities that requires traveling.

Typically in an office environment.
