Job Description

Reports to: UK Head of Development

Location: Bristol hybrid working

Contract: Full time (40 hours a week)

Salary: up to 65000 per annum

The Role:

The Land Manager will be responsible for leading the acquisition of all land required for the development of a growing portfolio of renewable energy projects from site selection through development and into commercial operation. This will involve taking the lead role in drafting HOTs leading negotiations and production of agreements.

The key responsibilities of the role are to:

  • Lead the negotiations to secure Heads of Terms Option and Lease agreements and other landrights with landowners and their agents/advisors required for the successful delivery of new projects.
  • Develop and manage positive relationships with landowners landowners solicitors and agents
  • Keep on top of market rates trends and influencing factors and devise a strategy to ensure EPDs offering is competitive in the market whilst optimising the value of projects.
  • Deliver support for land transactions and closing projects including management of due diligence.
  • Work closely with the inhouse legal team to monitor land agreements milestones reporting updating risk register.
  • Advise on land transactions in relation to joint venture partnerships acquisition sale and any associated due diligence.

The Person:

The ideal candidate will

  • Have proven postqualification experience with a degree in a relevant land/propertyrelated discipline such as rural surveying or estate management or with an accredited professional institute.
  • Have experience of renewable energy project development and land/property acquisition.
  • Have a strong knowledge and understanding of the commercial parameters of renewable energy development and operation.
  • Be proficient in land and real estate transactions and legal documentation provisions and procedures.
  • Ideally have NSIP DCO and renewables experience in landrelated agreements such as negotiating and securing contracts.
  • Be commercially astute with excellent business sense and risk awareness
  • Have a full UK driving licence and ability to travel frequently for site visits and meetings
