Job Description

What we are looking for

The purpose of this role is to provide fullcycle human resources support to internal client groups. The HR Manager consults and acts as a strategic advisor to the leadership team to drive human resourcerelated objectives as well as alignment between business and people strategies.

The ideal candidate must have robust HR Management expertise to ensure the effective utilization and development of the organizations human resources.


What does the job involve

  • HR Policy Formulation
    • Develop and implement HR policies in line with the Labour Laws and Company objectives.
    • Improve/update policies as required.
    • Continuously review and update the SOPs for the department as required.
  • Strategic Alignment of Employees
    • Use organizational direction to agree and plan and implement staffing needs.
    • Ensure all employees are assigned their relevant job descriptions to ensure delegation of duties and alignment with the corporate goals.
    • Develop HR plans and strategies to support the achievement of the overall business operations objectives by utilizing business acumen and understanding.
    • Provide HR reports to management as may be required for decisionmaking.
  • Employee Capability Development
    • Ensure the continuous upskilling of employees to meet organizational needs.
    • Develop get approval and implement the training plan.
    • Implement other development areas such as coaching and mentoring.
    • Ensure the implementation and adherence to the training policies.
    • Develop and implement a succession and pipeline leadership policy and plan.
  • Performance Management
    • Develop and implement performance evaluation systems to assess employee performance against established goals and objectives.
    • Utilize performance metrics and analytics to identify trends strengths and areas for improvement.
    • Provide training and support to managers and employees on performance appraisal processes and tools.
    • Work closely with managers to set clear performance expectations and ensure alignment with company objectives.
    • Conduct regular performance reviews and provide constructive feedback to employees to support their development and career growth.
    • Design and implement performance improvement plans (PIPs) for underperforming employees offering guidance and resources to help them meet performance standards.
  • Disciplinary Management
    • Establish and maintain disciplinary procedures that are fair consistent and in compliance with labor laws and company policies.
    • Investigate employee misconduct and complaints ensuring thorough documentation and adherence to due process.
    • Advise managers on appropriate disciplinary actions and support them in conducting disciplinary meetings.
  • Termination Processes
    • Manage the termination process ensuring it is conducted professionally and in accordance with legal requirements and company policies. Conduct exit interviews to gather feedback and identify opportunities for organizational improvement.
    • Coordinate with legal and finance departments to handle final settlements and ensure a smooth transition for departing employees.
  • Employee Engagement and Welfare
    • Develop and implement the culture framework.
    • Provide avenues such as competitive rewards and recognition to keep employees engaged to maintain high retention of productive employees.
    • Develop implement and review the compensation and benefits plans to ensure that they are competitive and costeffective.
    • Conduct regular employee surveys.


Qualifications

  • 8 years of HR experience including 4 years in a managerial role.
  • Human Resource/Management/Business Degree or relevant CHRP Certification.
  • Thorough knowledge of employmentrelated laws and regulations in Kenya.
  • Knowledge of and experience with varied human resource information systems.
  • Influencing and building strong relationships with stakeholders and senior leaders across functions.
  • Executing strategies and managing projects that promote a culture of superior customer service and exceptional employee engagement.
  • Partnering with leadership to design and implement workforce strategies to meet organization objectives.
