Overall the requirement can be broken down into 2 buckets :

4 people in Infrastructure Management:

The skills we are looking for in this area will really be focused on Terraform and Gitlab. We have a large number of Terraform modules we need to have run on a reoccurring basis.

3 people in Infrastructure Management Optimization:

Here would we would be very particular in the resources available and look for someone who is very experienced in AWS/Terraform and managing infrastructure at scale.

Keeps the lights on:

Skills here would be focused on helping others with common problems in the environment fulfilling provisioning requests for new infrastructure and troubleshooting AWS infrastructure production issues from the development teams.

• USAA is looking for talented cloud architect responsible for developing design and architecture to support cross domain business capabilities for P&C division. Candidate will work closely with technologists from P&C domains and help migrate them to private and public cloud. Candidate will focus on the intentional architecture and provide mentorship on emergent architecture to the technical teams. Candidate will have handson experience in cloud architectures (SaaS PaaS IaaS) and deep interest and experience in broad enterprise platforms and cloud patterns.
• What you will do :
• Participate/lead in producing conceptual solution and componentlevel architectures and associated artifacts.
• Develop cross domain business requirements reference architecture for transition and target state and contribute to the cloud related patterns and implementations.
• Identify create and socialize developer guides to explain technology best practices how to and dos and dont
• Identify create and socialize standards and specifications of existing and new technology and drive their adoptions by domains across the organization.
• Identify the need for common components for shared business capabilities develop the strategy including architecture and drive their development and adoption discussion with leadership team.
• Develop and lead developer community of practices to facilitate discussions on technical topics.
• What you will have :
• Hands on experience with AWS cloud networking including VPCs Subnets Security Groups ACLs Transit Gateways ALB/NLB Route53 ACM API Gateway and related technologies
• Understanding of networking processing protocols and standards TCP/IP UDP DNS HTTP
• Hands on experience with security mechanisms including mTLS x509 OpenID Connect JWT/JWE OAuth2 PEP/PDP SAML WSSecurity Basic Auth and ABAC/RBAC based policies
• Hands on code first development of cloud configuration and components from the ground up using tools like Gitlab and Terraform
• Strong hands on experience in one or more development languages including Java python Golang
• Experience with Open Trace AWS Cloud Watch DataDog Prometheus ELK Grafana Hystrix App Dynamics NetCool and other tools to ensure the cloud is operating as expected
• Experience with continuous delivery (CD) tooling including Jenkins GitLab Travis CI GoCD and others.
• Experience with Containers including tools like Docker Kubernetes ECS/ECR and other related technologies and tools
• Demonstrated experience in explaining complex technology decisions to both technical and nontechnical audiences at all levels in the organization.
• Demonstrated experience effectively communicating and developing high trust relationships with frontline and second level management and stakeholders.
• Ability to develop target state architecture using services offered by AWS and private cloud and vision to develop the transition architecture.
• Ability to design patterns for moving legacy applications to AWS and private cloud.
• Hand on experience with common architecture patterns (microservices eventdriven REST NO SQL databases Caches etc.) and services offered by AWS (S3 EKS RDS elastic search etc.)
• Experience addressing operational and nonfunctional concerns (e.g. scalability performance maintainability load distribution resilience and recovery etc.)
• Experience with SAFe framework or other similar agile frameworks.
• Experience with Java Kafka Spring Redis Kubernetes OpenShift and others.

Roles & Responsibilities

• Provides technical leadership and architectural direction for all the inscope cloud services deployed in AWS Cloud
• Participate in the design build and deployment of a new platform including service request provisioning process configuration monitoring definition backup and recovery strategy and security
• Work closely with developers and product owners to adopt architectural changes adapt to the emerging cloud requirements and technologies.
  • Manage architecture and solution dependencies within the assignment
• Articulate platform functional and nonfunctional requirements to support development services

Must have Experience

• Broad experience in network and/or infrastructure architecture and solutioning including knowledge of Cloud offerings and virtualization technologies
• Strong experience in architecting designing developing highly reliable fault tolerant and performant cloudbased services
• Strong experience in Docker Kubertnetes Kubernetes CRDs Kubernetes RBAC
• Strong knowledge of cloud monitoring and alerting tools like (Dynatrace Prometheus Cloudwatch Grafana New Relic Sendgrid)
• Strong experience on the application diagnosability with tools like ELK/EFK
• Strong experience with infrastructure and platform sizing infrastructure cost reduction
• Exposure to DR strategies followed while building highly available applications
• Strong experience in working on projects distributed across multiple geographies

Skills and Experience

We are seeking experience with the following technologies/domains:

• Prior experience in developing and architecting cloud services across diverse technology stack on C/Node.js/Java preferably Multitenant SaaS/PaaS Services using microservices architecture on any of the cloud environments AWS/Azure/Oracle Cloud Infrastructure.
• Must be familiar with containers technologies like: Docker Containers Kubernetes and ideally have developed on any of the full stack technology stack. Exposure to JQuery AngularJS KnockoutJS Bootstraps would be great to have.
• Proven ability to develop and ship high quality software products in Agile development environments.
• Must have used and developed Site Reliability Practices using popular Cloud Monitoring and logging framework.
  • Should have high emotional quotient selfdriven and shows technology leadership in complex and ambiguous situations.
• Good to have experience in a in multi cloud environment (AWS Azure OCI)
