- Manage the projects health and safety matters related to construction activities and contractual responsibilities.
- Conduct regular internal audits across all sites and divisions as well as external audits on suppliers and subcontractors.
- Ensure all site activities are carried out in the safest possible manner.
- Identify and report environmental and health and safety issues to the project management team.
- Review and develop method statements risk assessments and Environmental Health & Safety Plans.
- Develop maintain and implement IMS procedures and ensure compliance with ISO accreditations.
- Monitor the progress and effectiveness of the project quality management system recommending and implementing improvements as needed.
- Prepare and develop the projects Health and Safety plan.
- Prepare and review fire evacuation plans.
- Develop sitespecific method statements in liaison with site engineers.
- Coordinate with main contractors safety representatives.
- Attend site meetings and report back to senior management.
- Attend daily toolbox talks conducted by the main contractor.
- Inspect sites daily to ensure a safe environment and compliance with safety standards.
Requirements
- Bachelors degree in Electrical or Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- 8 10 years of experience in commercial and mixeduse projects.
- Strong understanding of national and international safety standards and legislation.
- Familiarity with hygiene occupational and general safety programs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problemsolving abilities.
- Certification in Occupational Health and Safety Management (e.g. NEBOSH IOSH OSHA) is highly desirable.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Computer literate.
- Fluent in English. Arabic is a plus.
