A Chicago engineering firm is looking for a Transportation Design Engineer to join their team!
Responsibilities:
- Perform CAD/engineering design and analysis to assist project lead complete project scope
- Design projects include (but not limited to) site civil utilities structures/bridges railroads streets highways and other transportation systems
- Complete plans preparation for all phases of design under direct supervision of project engineer/manager
- Use technical expertise for advanced problemsolving
- Manage project hours/budget
- Maintain project documentation
- Attend team and client project meetings
- Mentor/train junior staff
Requirements:
- B.S. in Engineering from an ABET accredited college
- 4 years of transportation design experience
- PE License (or working on obtaining)
- Transportation project design/plan preparation experience working with IDOT CDOT or Illinois Tollway
- Experience with the following:
- Geometric design of roadways intersections sidewalks ADA ramps driveways and parking lots
- MOT design/traffic management plans
- Topodot software
- Processing survey data
- Managing company/client CAD standards
- Developing cost estimates for design projects
- Proficient in MicroStation OpenRoads Geopak PowerCivil or InRoads
- Proficient in Bluebeam pdf software to perform collaborative plan reviews
- Proficient in Autodesk CAD products (AutoCAD Revit Civil3D MEP)
- 1 year of AutoCAD and MicroStation experience
- AutoDesk Certified User/Professional certification
