Responsibilities:

• Provide students rigorous and relevant learning activities and experiences
• Build strong relationships with students
• Create a safe and conducive learning environment
• Prepare lessons that reflect best practices and accommodate individual differences
• Encourage students to take ownership of their learning goals and process
• Guide the learning process toward the achievement of curriculum goals
• Employ a variety of instructional techniques and instructional media
• Implement College Achieve’s philosophy of education and instructional goals and objectives
• Assess student learning in an ongoing manner
• Provide frequent student feedback information to parents and written progress reports
• Assist the administration in implementing all policies and rules governing student life and conduct

Qualifications:

• Minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university
• NJ State Certification as a Special Education Teacher or Teacher of Students with Disabilities certification or Teacher of Handicapped certification.
• Possession of a passionate and loving attitude toward all children
• Possession of a sense of urgency to do whatever it takes to assure that every student gets to and through college
