Job Description

We are looking for a new Production Assistant and Dispatch Assistant to join our Quality Department for 4 days p/w.

The Coffee Quest is a socially responsible green coffee company committed to building a profitable and futureproof value chain for all stakeholders. Our team of around 50 coffee professionals is based in four countries: Colombia Brazil The Netherlands and the United States. Collectively we strive to directly link coffee growers and roasters ensuring sustainable pricing for all added value activities. Following the yearly harvest calendar we receive samples from our supplier network. Using our quality protocol each sample is examined to determine if the quality corresponds to our requirements.

Your mission will be to support quality control with roasted coffee and the dispatch of coffee samples to clients

Working in our European office means you will be a part of a diverse and multicultural team including people who speak Dutch Spanish German Italian and English. You will be stationed at our Amsterdam office but you will also have the chance to communicate with our sister companies in Colombia and Brazil and our partners across our supply network.

Your activities as a Production & Dispatch Assistant

1) Roasting & preparing cuppings: Profile coffees digitally using the ROEST S100 to best represent each of our coffee samples. Prepare cuppings according to our SCA protocol and support the quality manager in the evaluation.

2) Sample dispatch: Pack and dispatch our weekly sample requests using our sample pack protocol liasing with the account managers and following up on packages to ensure timely delivery.

3) Quality control & Sample administration: You will actively participate in the evaluation of incoming green offer samples. Registration of all incoming and outgoing green samples in Cropster Lab. Checking the physical state of each sample going through the beans and measuring variables such as moisture levels. Liase with our warehousing partner to maintain sample stock levels.

4) Events: Host and assist public cuppings with our clients and visitors to best represent our coffees and brand.

Requirements

We are looking for a candidate who possesses the following:
  • Advanced knowledge of specialty coffee with coffeeroasting experience as a big bonus!

  • EU Working Rights: The candidate must have the right to work in the EU already no visa will be provided.

  • Languages: English language skills are a must other languages an advantage.

  • Availability: 4 days per week with the potential to develop into a full time position in 2025

  • A keen interest in the specialty coffee world.

  • Starting: From August
